Why Men?

If you find yourself asking why the emphasis is often placed on men when the issue of the breakdown of a marriage or relationship crops up, the answer to your question is… A man is the head of the family, he’s supposed to lead his wife in a way which God approves, protect her, provide her needs (I’m not just talking about material needs) and love her unconditionally. There’s a standard which has been set to guide every man. That standard is the one set by Jesus Christ and His love for the Church, that He gave His life for her. (Ephesians 5:25-30)

Dear young man, you may not be married to that special lady yet but if she’s worth keeping, treat her right. You can still show love even if you can’t afford luxurious gifts. Checking up on her daily, offering to carry the shopping, making a cup of tea if you can’t cook etc. She may not be complaining but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know the standard which has been set. Believe it or not, the most patient girl who loves you more that you think she does will reach breaking point if you keep ignoring her and making her feel like you don’t value her. She knows her worth. She will go where she is valued. She is not yet your wife so she is free to leave a man who cannot prove himself worth marrying. Love and respect go hand in hand. If you set a good example in your role as a leader, she will not have a reason to disrespect you (Ephesians 5:33).
You may not be so fortunate to get a girl as good as her the next time (just as there are good girls, there are bad girls). Please do yourself a favour and get off your high horse before it’s too late. MAN UP! https://twitter.com/tomyfutwife/status/443089751545896960
Remember a woman is God’s gift to a man. When someone gives you a gift and you don’t value it, you either don’t get one as good the next time or you get none at all. SHE IS DOING YOU A FAVOUR BY MARRYING YOU. Think about it!
P.s: I don’t hold anything against guys. There are some ‘supermen’ who set great examples by living up to the standard ( the one set by Jesus Christ through His love for the church). This note is to those performing below the standard and are still fortunate to have the patient good girl. She will leave if you don’t MAN UP! So stop insulting her intelligence. She’s wise enough to know not to marry you if you won’t change. When your time is up, she’ll walk out and won’t come back even if she’s been back in the past. So stop making the same mistakes over and over again.

Suicide Note

You do not have the right to commit suicide no matter what you are going through. You do not have the right to commit self harm (slitting your wrists, smoking, getting drunk, and bleaching your skin including any and everything else that harms your body). You do not own your body. Therefore you do not have the right to destroy it.
“Surely you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you! So if anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy and you yourselves are His temple” – (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, The Bible).
You do not have the right to destroy your body. You do not have the right to destroy another person’s body. Until you have been able to create a living human being from scratch using dust which you have created, you do not own anybody. Even if you create a living human being and you do it with the dust created by God, rather than one which you yourselves have created, it’s still God’s property because you used His dust!
I pray that God will continue to send His angels to distract our attention whenever we think of committing suicide or self harm. May the Holy Spirit continue to remind us to cast our burdens unto Jesus and to fully Trust in God no matter what situation we find ourselves in.
Take care and Stay blessed,

Remind Me

Dear God,

I know I’m supposed to give You thanks in all situations (Ephesians 5:20). But Lord, we both know that’s not what I do. As soon as I am pushed a little bit out of my comfort zone, I start to worry. You’ve told me not to worry because you will provide all my needs. So Lord, whenever I forget to stop worrying, please remind me that You are with me and that You’ve provided all my needs even before I have asked. Help me be concerned about Your Kingdom and what You require of me. Please help me remember that You will provide me with all what I need. I therefore needn’t worry about the future. All I need to do is pray and You’ll hear me because You are always with me. You have confirmed this in Your Word (Matthew 6:33-34, Philippians 4:6) so I put all my trust in You. Thank You for loving me, in spite of my short comings.

Your daughter,

A Tale of Two Worlds

Very often we hear people criticising us for our past mistakes. It’s so easy to live in self-pity and shame. No one is perfect. However, when we give our lives to Jesus Christ, we can be assured that our sins are forgiven. Those mistakes we made several years ago cannot have a hold on us. No matter what anyone says about us, all we have to remind ourselves is that God has declared that HE WILL SHOW US MERCY AND HE WILL NOT REMEMBER OUR SINS ANY MORE (Hebrews 8:12). So if God who is the most powerful supernatural being that has ever existed has chosen to forgive and wipe away our sins, why then would we let mere mortals who cannot even prevent their own death condemn us?! There is no condemnation is Jesus Christ because of the grace and mercy which God shows us through His love for us (Romans 8:1). This is the good news. So which world do you want to live in? The world of condemnation OR the world of God’s grace and mercy?

Job Solutions

We often want to move to that next level in life yet many of us are not prepared to obey God’s Word or His voice when He speaks to us. For instance, you are so eager to be promoted as a line manager in your place of employment yet you refuse to obey the Word of God in your workplace. The Bible tells us in Romans 13: 1-2 that God places people in authority, for this reason if we dishonour our leaders by disobeying the guidelines which have been set for the smooth running of the organisation where you have been placed, we are dishonouring God. You want to be promoted or receive a pay rise meanwhile you are always late to work, you keep skiving off during working hours doing things you’re not supposed to do and not doing the things you’re actually being paid to do. How then do you expect to receive that promotion? Eventually, you start to blame it all on an enemy working things for your downfall or God not answering your prayers. Due to your initial desire to disobey your bosses, you begin to sow seeds of bearing false witness. If you’re confused, let me break this down:
  1. You dishonoured your leaders in the workplace so you dishonoured God
  2. Your act of disobedience caused you to miss out on your blessings. (When God blesses you, you are promoted, you are favoured, you are increased)
  3. You missed out on your blessings therefore you became stagnant in your place of appointment.
  4. Your stagnation makes you frustrated so you begin to tell your bosses lies about your colleagues in order to gain favour.
Those lies cause God to be even more displeased with you because in Exodus 20:16, God commands us not to give false testimony against our neighbours. In your workplace, your colleague is your neighbour because you are situated next to them. You therefore worsen your situation because disobedience comes with curses. Those lies you continually tell about your colleagues will sow seeds of curses in your life.
Dear reader, it’s time to start honouring God and honouring authority. It’s time to stop sowing seeds of discord in the workplace because sooner or later, those seeds of disobedience will bear fruits of curses.  Work hard, work with honour and God will surely show you favour if you trust him.

If God is real, why does He let bad things happen?

Contrary to popular belief, God is NOT the authoritative supernatural being who loves to give harsh punishments to people. He loves us dearly. His love for us can be compared to that of a father's love for his child. Every responsible father lays down rules his children must obey. He only puts them in place out of love. He does this to protect from bad and hurtful things. He does this because He cares so much about His children and doesn't want to see them get hurt or upset. He can't stand the sight of seeing them in pain.
So if God is real, why are there bad people and why do bad things happen?
When God created the world, He gave Adam and Eve a choice. He told them not to eat from the tree that gives knowledge of what is good and what is bad. Apart from that, they could eat from any tree in the Garden of Eden. "You must not eat the fruit of that tree, if you do, you will die the same day". - Genesis 2:17.
However, they were disobedient. They allowed the snake to trick them and ate the forbidden fruit. This is therefore the reason why we and those we love die. It's about time we stop blaming God for our ancestors mistakes.
Also, it is how man got knowledge for technological advancement and knowledge of destruction - good vs. evil. For this reason, there is so much pain in the world. By eating the fruit, everything on earth was cursed. This includes the land. God loves us so dearly, He warned us about the consequences of our actions.
So why did God punish us?
"The Lord corrects those He loves, as parents correct a child of whom they are proud -(Proverbs 3:12). Our parents love us so dearly, they don't stay angry at us forever. In the same way, God loves us more than our parents love us and so He sent Jesus Christ so that we can be saved from the sin nature we are born with.
One may ask so why was the tree there is it could cause so much harm. Well, God has a purpose of using everything He created for the good and benefit of mankind. However, the right things at the wrong time can lead to disaster. For example, people who are sexually active would acknowledge the fact that sex is a beautiful thing. However, it was designed for married people only. If anyone has sex at the wrong time (that is outside marriage). They put themselves at risk of pain. Think of the pain a person experiences when they experience a break up following a sexually active relationship. The hurt and pain is so great some people find it difficult to forgive. They risk having a baby they are not ready for. This could change their future especially if they are still in school. They may even risk contracting a disease, they are ashamed to even tell their doctor about.
When a married couple have sex outside their union, it causes stress, strain on the relationship and loss of trust.  Some people ask why there is divorce if marriage is supposed to be a sacred and blessed union. Well, if you lose your virginity before you get married, spiritually, you become defiled. Emotionally, your perceptions about trust and relationships changes and you end up transferring this into your marriage. Your actions then have an impact on your spouse. Physically, your body changes. So this affects even couples who had premarital sex but eventually got married to each other.
Who is it easier to trust?
1. Someone who was able to control their emotions. or
2. Someone who lacked self control.
Being pure doesn't mean your life and marriage is going to be easy but when the storms, trials and tribulations come, God will hear your cry and help you because He knows you are blameless. An example of this is seen in the book of Job. The example on premarital sex is just one example of why we go through pain. There are many others which can be explained by reading the Word of God given to us in The Bible.
So why did God give us the option to choose?
"Someone will say, "I am allowed to do anything." Yes; but not everything is good for you. I could say that I am allowed to do anything, but I am not going to let anything make me its slave." (1 Corinthians 6:12).

What do I do now? I have sinned way too much to be forgiven :(
It doesn't matter whether we committed any sin whether big or little. It's not too late to change. However, we must repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. We must do it now. We must repent before we die or Jesus comes back because no one knows the day nor the hour he or she is going to die or when Jesus will return. By accepting Jesus, we gain salvation. We stand a chance of going to heaven.
I am a good person. I will go to heaven. I don't need Jesus to get there
Being good is not enough to get to heaven. "Jesus answered him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me" (John 14:6). "Those of you who try to be put right with God by obeying the Law but have cut yourselves off from Christ. You are outside God's grace. As for us, our hope is that God will put us right with him; and this is what we wait for by the power of God's Spirit working through our faith"- (Galatians 5:4-5).
It's too difficult to obey all those commandments. Is it even possible?
If you think it is difficult to obey God's commandments , "What I say is this: let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature"- (Galatians 5:16). Through Jesus Christ, we've got a second chance to have eternal life. "For God loved the world so much that He gave us His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life"- (John 3:16). Let us take this opportunity before it is too late. God's grace is undeserved but God loves us so much He gives it to us anyway. Once again. we have the choice of taking it or missing out.
